IGFA Rules

Line Test = the breaking strength of the first 5 meters (16.5 feet) of line
directly preceding the double line, leader, or hook.
Leader = 20 lb and below line class = The combined length of the double line
and leader shall not exceed 6.1 meters (20 feet). 30 lb to 130 lb line class = The
combined length of the double line and leader shall not exceed 12.19 meters
(40 feet).
Gaffs (including flying gaffs) and nets used to boat or land a fish must not
exceed 2.44 meters (8 feet) in overall length.
Resting the rod in a rod holder, on the gunwale of the boat, or any other
object while playing the fish is not allowed.
Mutilation to the fish, prior to landing or boating the catch, caused by
sharks, other fish, mammals, or propellers that remove or penetrate the flesh
will disqualify the catch.
